Dental Hygienist

We're looking for a special Dental Hygienist to join our terrific team. Use your excellent verbal skills to educate and motivate your patients. Applicants for this position will be held in strict confidence. Compensation based on your abilities, attitude, passion and may include a bonus if qualified. Recent graduate or less than Five years experience preferred. Nitrous Oxide Administration and Local Anesthesia licensure/certification preferred.

• part time position - Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
• must be a self-starter and willing to learn new concepts and procedures
• must be empathetic and kind to patients
• must be willing to make post treatment telephone calls with excellent verbal skills that we will teach you
• must believe that Covid-19 is real and be willing to follow the recommendations outlined by the CDC, ADA, ODA and OSHA. Vaccination against Covid is strongly recommended
• patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental/periodontal charting and use of intra-oral camera
• taking blood pressure and pulse
• taking Digital Intra-oral and Panoral radiographs
• removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth
• applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
• teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., toothbrushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
• counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health. Have knowledge about the Oral Systemic Health Connection, use of Salivary Diagnostics and counseling patients about this.
• making impressions of patients' teeth for study casts
• performing documentation and office management activities

You will have access to Two of your own hygiene operatories. Each of these is equipped with a digital x-ray unit. You will also have access to New Piezo Ultrasonics with warm fluid irrigation for dispensing medicaments in the sulcus for improved healing. A Hygiene computer terminal and Intra-oral camera are also supplied strictly for your use.
